Josh Connors

Josh Connors (He/They), graduate of the Randolph College for the Performing Arts (Summer 2012), is a multidisciplinary artist in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Josh has spent the last three years bringing original queer stories to the stage in Western Newfoundland. Small Town Queer, Connors’ first full length play about queer life in rural Newfoundland and Labrador, has played to many sold-out audiences since it’s premiere in October 2019. The play was chosen as a required reading at Grenfell Campus (Memorial University) in three courses taught by Professor Stephanie McKenzie. Additionally, the play reached #1 on Amazon’s Best Seller list in 5 separate categories since its publication in early 2020. In April 2021, Connors developed a drag and burlesque show, Playing with The Queer of Hearts, where they hosted and preformed under their drag persona, Miss Di Agnosed. Most recently, in May 2021, Connors opened his newest work, The Repercussions of Awkward Small Talk, at the Rotary Arts Center Corner Brook to two-sold out audiences. Connors’ uses his platform to shine a light on underrepresented queer stories and to start difficult conversations about mental health and the stigma surrounding it. Other credits include Rock of Ages (Drew), RENT (Angel), and Mr. Burns, A Post Apocalyptic Play (Mr. Burns).
